JAXA-approved space venture Tenchijin Inc. is pleased to announce that it has been selected for "GO AUSTRIA", an international startup support program by Austrian government agencies. The program will take place in Vienna, Austria, from June 3 (Mon.) to July 15 (Sat.), 2024.
About GO AUSTRIA
GO AUSTRIA is an initiative offered by the Austrian government to support international start-ups expanding outside of their country to Austria and Europe. The program is coordinated by the Global Incubator Network Austria (GIN), a collaboration between the Austrian government agency Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) and the Austrian Economic Services Company (aws).
Further details can be found on their website: https://www.go-austria.com/
Since its launch in 2016, more than 200 participants from various businesses have benefited from the mentoring and networking possibilities. As a result, the GO AUSTRIA initiative is acknowledged as an excellent resource for international startups seeking to expand into Europe.
GO AUSTRIA offers a one- to three-week group program (Go Austria Batch) twice a year and an individual program (Go Austria Individual) for one business at a time, with Tenchijin being chosen for the Go Austria Spring Batch 2024.
This year's program selected 16 businesses out of over 170 applications. Tenchijin was chosen for the originality of its solution and its strong business affinity for the European market.
The program aims to facilitate the way for promising international startups to access the Austrian market. The program provides the following support:
- Individual mentoring: personalized guidance and advice tailored to the needs of each startup.
- Coworking space: coworking space as a base of operations in Austria.
- Workshops and training: professional workshops and training on business development, marketing strategies, legal matters, and more.
- Networking events: networking opportunities with Austrian and European business communities and investors. Specifically, GO Austria enables Tenchijin to participate at the European start-up fair ViennaUP and has been granted several pitch opportunities to present its business cases and AI-powered technologies.
- Market research and access assistance: information and guidance to help you better understand and enter the Austrian and European markets.
Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterleak will be available in the European market
Tenchijin Inc. is developing "Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterleak," a tool for the management and localization of leakage in the European market. Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterLeak" is a service that visualizes areas with high leakage risk on a map, allowing municipalities and private water utilities to reduce both time and expenses spent on leakage surveys. In Japan, the service launched in April 2023 and has been adopted by 14 towns as of June 2024.
In Europe, leakages and unauthorized use result in the loss of 15% to 25% of the supplied water. Water scarcity has an immense effect on agriculture, and society as a whole is growing more concerned about water resource management.

While leveraging our experience and knowledge gained in Japan, we hope that our leakage risk management system using space big data will be a promising solution to Europe's water concerns. Our goal is to accelerate the proof of concept across Europe with our participation in this distinguished program supported by the Austrian government. Through the extension of the Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterLeak service, we will continue to strive to add value to the management of Earth's valuable water resources and ultimately contribute to sustainable development.
