(headquartered in Chuo-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Yasuto Sakuraba), a space venture certified by JAXA, is pleased to announce that the cumulative number of municipalities* contracted with its water utility DX solution, "Tenchijin COMPASS KnoWaterleak", which leverages satellite data to support sustainable water services, has surpassed 30.

How Can We Address the Hidden Risks Beneath Our Feet?
Water and sewage pipelines are buried underground, making it extremely difficult to accurately assess their condition from the surface. Deterioration and damage that progress out of sight often manifest suddenly through events such as water leaks or road collapses, severely impacting daily life and urban infrastructure.
Take water supply systems as an example. In Japan, over 20,000 water leakage incidents occur annually, with the primary cause being aging infrastructure. Many of the pipes laid during the period of rapid economic growth in the 1960s have now been in service for over 40 years. These so-called "aged pipes" span approximately 176,000 kilometers—roughly four times the circumference of the Earth. With replacement costs estimated at 200 million per kilometer, municipalities across the country are facing a critical situation.

By integrating these indices, the solution generates multiple pipeline renewal prioritization scenarios.
These scenarios can be tailored to local needs—whether emphasizing day-to-day leakage risk or social impact during disasters.
